Wet AMD treatment with Avastin (Bevicizumab)

Avastin (Bevicizumab) is a humanized monoclonal antibody against VEGF.  When dosed intravitreally, it can inhibit growth and leakage from the abnormal extra blood vessels that characterize the wet form of AMD, allowing absorption of abnormal fluid and subsequent improvement in retinal function and protection from further damage.
